The King Charles of England invites Shehbaz Sharif! In October, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif received a call from King Charles III inviting him to the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) in Samoa. The Prime Minister of Pakistan accepted the invitation and said that this meeting was important since King Charles would preside over it for the first time since taking over as Commonwealth leader in September 2022.
In his reply, Prime Minister Sharif highlighted the importance of the meeting and Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to Commonwealth ideals. He underlined the importance of addressing significant concerns like climate change and sustainable development, especially in considering Pakistan’s struggles with its effects.
PM Sharif also used the occasion to ask about the King’s well-being and to congratulate the Princess of Wales on her recent recovery. During this visit, Pakistan has a significant opportunity to discuss important international issues with Commonwealth leaders.
